Successful Fundraising Initiatives

Parent and Community Donations:

Every year we receive donations from our families, staff and community members. These donations may be in terms of time, monetary, and/or materials, such as toys. Some of our families have donated specific items, for example, a laminator to improve the efficiency and cost of program materials. We appreciate every donation that we receive to our program.

Mabel’s Labels

Mabel’s Labels are personalized peel and stick labels that go safely in the laundry, dishwasher or microwave. These labels are great for all your kids’ stuff – from shoes and clothes to water bottles, lunch boxes, backpacks, school supplies and more. We earn back 20% on all Mabel’s Labels sales.

Purdys Chocolatier

Purdy’s Chocolate (Annual Seasonal Fundraiser)

Every year our staff organize a seasonal Purdy’s Chocolate fundraising campaign around the winter holidays. This fundraiser is a simple, low-cost way to increase our donation funds so we can continue to purchase resources for our libraries. We earn 25% back from all the chocolate sales.

Kids Up Front

Kids Up Front (Ongoing)

Kids Up Front is one of our community partners who have donated event tickets and experiences to our families on a regular basis. Their ticket donations allow our children and families to experience events like a hockey game, enjoy a show at the circus and experience Calaway Park’s Light Up a Child’s Life annual event.

Skip the Depot (2019)

Never go to the bottle depot again! Skip the Depot is a free commercial and residential recycling service operator that we are a part of. This program allows customers to have their recyclable bottles picked up from their home and the proceeds can be donated to Lead Foundation as we are a community partner. Proceeds from the bottles donated will be used to purchase new resources for our toy library.

Memorial Drive Chiropractic

Memorial Drive Chiropractic & Massage

Memorial Drive Chiropractic & Massage is one of our community partners. Over the years, Dr. Ryan Wagemakers and his staff have generously donated to our foundation. With their monetary contributions, we have been able to upgrade our technology and provide our families with additional resources in our lending library.

Goodlife Kids Foundation

GoodLife Kids Grant (2016)

Lead was a proud recipient of the GoodLife Kids Grant where we received funding to provide ongoing physical activity opportunities for our families throughout the year. This grant improves community access and helps remove some of the barriers preventing children from living active lives.

Go Dental (2014-2015)

Go Dental is one of our community partners. Go Dental is an active participant and supporter of multiple organizations in the Calgary community. In 2014, Go Dental held a fundraising initiative via Facebook, with $5.00 for every new follower contributing to our generous donation of $995.00. Go Dental continues to support Lead through additional fundraising efforts and opportunities to educate our children and families about oral health.

Allies for Autism - Lead Foundation

Allies for Autism Foundation

Lead Foundation was thrilled to have been awarded grants over the past decade through Allies for Autism Foundation, which gave us the opportunity to update our technology including laptops, electronic devices (iPad, iTouch) and therapeutic apps, as well as game systems (Wii, Xbox Kinect) and laptops for our children, families and staff.
